Skill Level
- •Who it's for: Intermediate
- •Why: The jetty wedge creates a significantly more powerful and hollow wave than the surrounding Florida coast.
Hazards
- •Jetty structure, getting caught against the rocks is dangerous
- •Bull sharks are frequently sighted at the inlet (one of Florida's highest shark encounter areas)
- •Very competitive lineup on good swell days
Local Tips
- •First Peak (north side of the inlet) is the money spot, it wedges into a steep, hollow right on an incoming swell.
- •Sebastian Inlet State Park has camping right on the beach, a 2-night surf camp here during a NE swell is quintessential East Coast surfing.
