Shape

Skill Level

  • Who it's for: Intermediate
  • Why: The wave is long and consistent but not overly powerful, a dream wave for longboarders and intermediate surfers.

Hazards

  • Extremely remote, the road is rough and medical facilities are far away
  • Rocky exit points between sections
  • Camping community can get territorial on big swells

Local Tips

  • The drive on the rutted dirt road to San Juanico weeds out the uncommitted, arrive with high clearance, spare tyre, and enough food for several days.
  • Count the points from south: Points 1, 2, and 3 each have their own character, Point 3 is the most powerful.
