Length

Skill Level

  • Who it's for: Expert
  • Why: Near-vertical take-off over a shallow reef with a wave that closes out if you're not in the perfect line.

Hazards

  • Extremely shallow reef, can be touched on take-off
  • Critical, narrow take-off zone
  • No shoulder to escape to if you pull back
  • Rocks on the beach at low tide
  • Tight crowd of experienced surfers

Local Tips

  • Paddle out via the left side of the cove using the channel, don't paddle through the break zone.
  • A smaller board (fish or shortboard) helps generate speed on the steep drop; longboards are impractical here.
