Skill Level
- •Who it's for: Expert
- •Why: Near-vertical take-off over a shallow reef with a wave that closes out if you're not in the perfect line.
Hazards
- •Extremely shallow reef, can be touched on take-off
- •Critical, narrow take-off zone
- •No shoulder to escape to if you pull back
- •Rocks on the beach at low tide
- •Tight crowd of experienced surfers
Local Tips
- •Paddle out via the left side of the cove using the channel, don't paddle through the break zone.
- •A smaller board (fish or shortboard) helps generate speed on the steep drop; longboards are impractical here.
